Further information

ITN is one of the most diverse and dynamic content creators in the world, producing news and factual programming for every media channel from television to mobile phones. With a heritage in news making, ITN has transitioned into a multiplatform content generation, sales and syndication business. ITN’s wide-ranging expertise in all areas of the content business, coupled with experience of creating programming in a host of multimedia formats, means a diverse and dynamic working environment.

The current HR Director is now looking for a suitable successor after accepting a new challenge. In her own words “This is, by far, one of the best jobs you’ll ever do and a fabulous opportunity for a talented HR leader to join the Executive Leadership team at ITN.”

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides strategic and operational HR leadership across ITN in addition to managing the HR function to ensure that the department actively contributes to the business goals. It has a strong operational focus dealing with the varied issues that arise in a dynamic and fast moving news gathering and content creation environment. Whilst not a Board position, this role has a good working relationship with the Board and working with the CEO, advises the Chairman and RemCo.

As a true generalist the HR Director you will drive HR strategy and advise the CEO and Board on all HR, Development and Reward matters.

What does ITN need?

We need a HR Director who will have worked at a similar level within a commercially focused business supporting the CEO and providing guidance to the Board.

As collaboration is key to getting things done at ITN, you will have the honed skills and experience to work at the highest level and within a fast paced senior management team. You will have demonstrable commercial HR leadership skills and strong legislative knowledge including advising on UK and International policy and its implications for ITN. Exposure to working in a Unionised environment and the challenges that this brings is a necessary skill for this job and an essential requirement. You will be a proven developer and leader of an HR function you will be capable of delivering to tight deadlines and an ever changing workload.

It’s about the full package really, so… you will provide strategic and operational guidance on employee and industrial relations, reward, performance and talent, and continue the proactive relationship with our Unions at both local and national level. Experience of L&D is required and you will lead on the identification through to delivery of learning programmes across ITN.

It goes without saying that you will be of graduate calibre and CIPD qualified, but if you’re not don’t worry because it’s the strong and proven work history that’s really essential to getting this job done.

Content creation is the ultimate team game, so team players need only apply.

If you feel you have the necessary qualities and personality to fill this demanding position then we would be keen to talk to you further. Please send your CV and covering letter to our retained consultants Frazer Jones at the following address itn@frazerjones.com, or contact Darren Wentworth on 02074152815.
